LCGL Counselling and Training Services is a charity sponsored by the Lincolnshire Co-operative and grant funded by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We are a free counselling service that responds to the needs of children/young people and adults in Lincolnshire who are experiencing the unmanageable symptoms of grief and loss following a significant life event.
Counselling provides a safe
and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about
your issues and concerns. Your counsellor will help you explore your
thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better
understanding of yourself and of others.
A counsellor will not give you their opinions or advice or
prescribe medication. They will help you find your own solutions –
whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of
coping with your problems.
At LCGL Counselling and Training Services, all of our counsellors are members of a recognised counselling body and have undergone an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
All of our counsellors have a special interest in working with clients within the grief and loss process and are committed to providing an effective professional and confidential counselling service for adults, children and young people in Lincolnshire.
Grief is the involuntary emotional and psychological
response that follows any loss.
Loss situations can be caused
by many different life events, such as:
death of a loved
one,
divorce and
separation,
problematic
relationships,
ill health
In fact, almost any
significant life change or occurrence.
It may be difficult to talk to family and friends about how you are feeling, but you are aware that you need to share these feelings with someone.
Perhaps the right person could be a counsellor who is trained to respond to someone in your situation?
